If you know me, you know that I’ve moved to the USA. To study… um. my masters! Anyway. I now live away from home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Also I’ve a snazzy new computer now that I just want to show off about!

What’s the new hemisphere like? In my perspective…
Hmm. No offense USA. I totally love you. But it’s so gay. They insist on doing everything the wrong way! Like what’s with that.
Other than that it feels like I’ve come to Tamil Nadu. Man the number of Tamilians! But we’ve the sweetest neighbors here. Who saved our lives- ever grateful to them! So I shouldn’t ramble about tamilians! I will lose their support.
Also I’ve roommates- it feels like an eternal sleepover. Except you’ve to study… also eternally!
Day 3 of school: I’m already stressed out.

Oh btw! I go to NC State. Please google it up. We’re famous and we’re awesome! called the wolf pack! And I’ve to rant some more about how Indians are taking over this country. And what that has in it for me.

I forgot to mention home. I miss home. I miss my ma and pa and my tape! And my best friends R, S and K! Oh too much drama happened before I left. I’m holding up surprisingly well.
On a more oscar speech note. I would like to mention a special thanks to Sh and Sh! They’re my sweethearts (Refer post below!) And all those cousins/friends who offered me lots of free stuff! Keep that coming too.

I’ve missed them a lot! And I’m yet to talk to Sh2 cos he’s soo busy! But he’s like this awesome person who just helped me through thick and thin! And Sh1 is like my own sister cos I don’t have siblings!

Anyway, they’re staying for a month and I plan to have a lot of fun with them around!
Go out and like hang out and shop!
Why do girls love shopping anyway?! Just randomly go shopping with everyone without having a paisa to spend for yourself! (Ahem: Calls for donations! )

Otherwise, I’ve truckloads of work to do. Frustration’s hitting my head. Nothing seems to be helping. Things have improved since last week. But not brilliant! This is my 19th NaBloPoMo- that’s still 2 posts behind! Gah!!!

But this was the first time I went for a wedding and saw a baraat and all. It’s not traditionally a part of our weddings. But still it feels really nice to celebrate the fact that you’re getting married rather than just be all dull and boring.
Unlike even 2 years ago, naach gaana has become an integral part of every wedding. It’s like the “cool” thing to do. And when the entire thing is sooo much fun why not adopt it right?

Anyway, coming back to this wedding. It was some random person’s wedding! But mum dragged me along, so I went! And I saw my first baraat, I’d never seen one earlier. I was so fascinated and amused at the same time! I didn’t dance, cos well I didn’t know the people! But yeah, it was too much fun to watch! Really!

We should do this more often I suppose!
Also I heard a lot of awesome things about the movie Band Baja Baraat, anyone saw it? How was it?

ICSE is, undoubtedly, the best.
You know you are from ICSE when:

**This is purely for entertainment reasons. There is no intention of insulting anyone from any caste, religion, creed, sex, group, Board, community etc. Hence, I would appreciate if it is taken lightly and does not attract any legal actions.

1) you come to the US for college, and kids here think you were born in the States coz u speak just like them

2) randomly using words/phrases such as ‘sooth’, ‘thou art’, ‘wherewithal’ etc is completely normal in 9th and 10th (coz of all the shakespeare)

3) you go to junior college and automatically become best buddies with another ICSE kid, even if he’s from the school you hated all your life until then..

4) you are the only one who understands the concept of ‘reading time’ in an exam

5) you memorized 36 chapters for your hindi paper, but to this day have trouble with constructing a paragraph in formal hindi

6) you went for tuitions for every conceivable subject on the planet, english, hindi, comps, science, history, geography, maths.. and maybe even SUPW

7) you actually understood what SUPW was.. and when you read the above post.. you thought, ‘ohhh that’s right, we had that shit too’

you went to CBSE/State board after ICSE, looked at their english textbook and thought to yourself.. ‘man, 2nd graders at my school could’ve aced this rubbish’

9) even the peons and the cleaning ladies at school spoke better English than most of your Junior College/College profs

10) most of your batch had cellphones by the time they were in 9th grade, and they all lived 15 minutes away from school

11) your Annual Day/ Sports Day Parades were more coordinated than many other great Parades!

12) your Hindi teacher often had to resort to English to explain stuff to some of your classmates

15) there had to be atleast one celebrity kid in your batch (there just has to be )

16) your school participated only in inter-ICSE sports fest (they pretended they didn’t want to associate with all the state schools .. but the real reason was that they would get creamed by the State Board kids)

17) a score rise of 30% from your prelims to the Boards was considered perfectly normal

18) you actually prayed to Xavier Pinto and Francis Fanthome before the boards (dunno who the head honchos are now, in my day I prayed to them)

19) your prom/social looked like a bollywood awards party

20) some of the chicks in your school were hotter than the current Miss India (note: tribute to ICSE chicks.. I’ve seen a lot of women all over the country and have never met a really hot girl who wasn’t an ICSE product.. ICSE women ROCK!)

21) your school grilled you so hard that the Boards were the exam that you studied most for in life… and will always stay that way

22) in college most of the other kids drinking, smoking or doing weed are ICSE kids :-p

23) you look at what’s being taught in your college intro chem course and you go.. ‘wait a minute, didn’t I do all this in the 8th grade?’

24) you got a 90 plus in the boards and thought you were ready to rule the world.. but then 2 years later you realised that it wasn’t enough to clear the PUC – let alone IIT-JEE

25) you had your first girlfriend/boyfriend much before 9th grade

26) in junior college/college, you were considered a snob, and you loved it!

27) at least one of your friends was driving his own car by the time you were in the 10th grade

28) Every PTA meeting had shivers run down your spine even when u did well

29) If you have preserved your copy of Juilius Caesar and Whispers of Immortality and frequently compare it with the crappy and offensive State board / CBSE english textbooks!

30) When you consider going for SUPW trips is as good as a casual outing!

31) When you scowl when a state board friend (that is, if your arrogance of ICSE allows you to keep one!) asks you to help him in English and you think, “God, thank God I was in ICSE”.

32) When scoring a 95% either means you actually slogged your ass off in the last month (February) or you are an above average student who was lucky (Ahh..the power of scaling up in the ICSE)

32) You assume that state-board or CBSE schools are only where your maid’s kids go!

33) When all your books in PUC (that is, if your arrogance allowed you to attend college in India) together cost as much as one ICSE textbook

34) When you tell a friend who ditched you, “Et tu Brute”.

35) When you can still remember and quote lines from one of Shakespeare’s play (which was in syllabus) with a proud sense of achievement on your face.

36) When you find it very difficult to Write “Extra-Lengthy” Answers for your University/College Exams, And you wonder why you ended up with low grades.

Just remembering those days!

I’m sleep-deprived. EXHAUSTED. I feel unloved for and uncared for and it’s only wednesday and we’ve college till saturday. Sad place I go to.

I REQUIRE loads of hugs. So bring it on. And this song made me feel better. So if you feel like me you’ve my hugs too and this song for company. It’s so dreamy

Their horoscopes were matched and were said to be a “match made in heaven” I’m not sure about how sad she is. She at least could’ve been a lot better.

On the other hand. My cousin fell in love and got married to a boy who was not according to her horoscope. According to the match, the guy should’ve died 2.5 years ago and they should’ve split after the poor boy died!
But obviously none of this happened and they’re living a happy life together and will continue to do so
So do the horoscopes make any sense at all??

1) It’s a day for “love” A normal human being needs a DAY to show love? It’s just a little more opportunity for creeps to hit on women.

2) What’s with people texting EVERYBODY wishing them “Happy Valentine’s day.” It’s plain weird.

3) And those heart shaped balloons.

4) Those large Teddy bears – Ew! I don’t even like stuffed toys. Doesn’t anyone find them scary?!

5) It’s all overrated. What’s the deal with dating and all that. Watching all those couples koochi-kooing in the parks is rather disgusting.

6) If you know anyone who believes that V-day can find you true lowe! Whack them in the rear and tell them they’re kidding themselves!

But all this doesn’t mean Idiots like Pramod Muthalik can come and say crappy things about girls and misbehave with them. It’s illegal and disrespectful. Shun that!

What is it?

I’ve also mentioned earlier that I might be going off to the USA to do my masters soon. I’m in my final year of engineering and I’ve less than 4 months to have as much fun as I can pack in. So guys… You’re going to help me right???

My fly-away list is like a bucket list. Stuff that I want to do before I go to the USA. I’m listing it all out. Tell me what you think. And I want a LOT of additions from everyone. So go ahead and let me know. And also tell me if you want to join me in something, we’ll make plans!
Let’s start off:

1) Going for the air-show. (I’d never done that)

2) Going for a cricket match, any match. But lucky that the world cup’s coming and I’ve arranged for tickets.

3) Buy my school sweathirt that says “Baldiwinian”

4) I’m not much of a party person. I don’t do daaru and don’t intend to change that but there’s a disc called skyye lounge in Bangalore that I want to go to! I’ve heard so much about it!

5) Go for a nirupama-rajendra performance, they’re my favourite dancers.

6) Watch Rahman live in concert, I know it won’t happen. But anywhere in south-India and I’m ready to go.

7) Lose weight-This is on every wishlist I make, how can I leave it out here!

8 ) Go to Goa with my friends

9) Go shopping like a maniac with friends and every one!

10) Learn to properly drive a car.

11) Watch as many movies as possible. Last sem in college and all so wth right!

12) Have a fun sleepover with friends- without parents!
